Detailed Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Bangkok

Saturday / Tuesday

Meet upon arrival, after finishing with the Immigration please walk outside to the meeting point at the arrival hall where our guide and driver will be waiting for you, holding a sign with your name on it. He will transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Bangkok

Sunday / Wednesday

Today is a free day. You can visit the Grand Palace/Wat Phra Keow, wander through the alleys of Chinatown, make a boat trip on the Chao Phraya River or visit one of the dazzling shopping complexes of these exciting city.

Monday / Thursday

Early this morning, you will be picked up from your hotel by our minivan and guide for your three days/two nights trip to the River Kwai area. This is not a private trip, others will be joining you.

 

First we will drive to the Floating Market of Damnoen Saduak. You will visit the market before most of the tourists arrive. After this visit we will drive to Kanchanaburi. There you will board the train and travel over the infamous Burma Railway. This railway was constructed in the Second World War under Japanese orders by Allied prisoners of war and forced laborers. You will disembark at Nam Tok.

 

After lunch at the Sommai Restaurant we will drive to Hintok River Camp.

Day 4: Kanchanaburi

Tuesday / Friday

Today is a free day. It is possible to hike along the historical trail through the spectacular Hell Fire Pass through which the Burma Railway runs. There are many other activities possible in the afternoon, such as mountain biking to a neighboring basket-weaving village, canoeing or taking a long tail boat along the River Kwai. Staff of Hintok River Camp can assist you with the arrangement of these activities.

 

Of course you can also just relax and enjoy the lovely natural surroundings and your comfortable safari-style tent accommodations.

Wednesday / Saturday

This morning, we will drive to the Erawan Falls, located in the Erawan National Park.  We will spend a couple of hours at this wonderful waterfall. You can walk up all the way to the top of the waterfall or have a swim in the crystal clear water at one of the many levels of the falls. During weekends Erawan is a very popular recreation destination for Thais. Lunch will be at a local restaurant near the Waterfalls. After lunch we will return to Bangkok. Our driver will drop you off at the Hua Lumpong Railway Station for the night train to Chiang Mai

Day 6: Bangkok - Chiang Mai

In the early morning you will arrive in Chiang Mai.

Our driver will be waiting for you, holding a sign with your name on it. He will transfer you to your hotel.

Friday / Monday

You will be picked up from the hotel between for your tour to the Golden Triangle. This is not a private trip. Others will be joining you.

 

First we will drive to Mae Kachan Hot Springs where we will make a stop. Before we arrive in Chiang Rai we will make a brief stop at Wat Rong Khun, also known as the “White Temple”.  We will continue to the Golden Triangle where the borders of Laos, Myanmar and Thailand meet. Here you will make a boat trip on the Mekong River and visit the small Lao Island Koh Don Sao. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. Drive to Mae Sai and visit the bustling bordercrossing between Thailand and Myanmar. Due to time constraints it is not possible to cross into Myanmar.

 

We continue with a visit at Baan Yapa, a village of the fascinating Karen Long Neck Hilltribe also known as the Padaung.

 

After this we will drive to Chiang Rai. You will be dropped off at La Luna Resort where you will have time to relax at the swimming pool.

Day 8: Chiang Rai - Bangkok

Monday / Tuesday

After breakfast you will be picked up for a relaxing morning tour of Chiang Rai by samlor, a bicycle taxi. You will pass the King Mengrai Monument, commemorating the king who founded Chiang Rai in 1262. You will also visit Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Prasing, two very nice temples. You will finish with a visit to the local market. Return to the hotel.

Check out time is noon.

 

The afternoon is free at leisure. The resort has a nice swimming pool which you can use without extra charge until the time we pick you up.

In the late afternoon our driver will pick you up and will transfer you Chiang Rai airport for flight to Bangkok

Day 9: Bangkok - Siem Reap

You will be picked up from your hotel. Today you will travel by minibus to the Thai-Cambodian border at Aranyaprathet/Poipet where you will cross the border by foot and transfer to another minibus that will take you to Siem Reap.

You will be dropped off at your hotel.

Day 10: Siem Reap

Today is a free day.

Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Stretching over some 400 km2, including forested area, Angkor Archaeological Park contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century.

They include the famous Temple of Angkor Wat and, at Angkor Thom, the Bayon Temple with its countless sculptural decorations. UNESCO has set up a wide-ranging program to safeguard this symbolic site and its surroundings.

Day 11: Siem Reap

Tuesday / Friday

Today is a free day.

You can go back to Angkor for a second visit or make a boat trip on the Tonle Sap Lake, the largest lake in Southeast Asia. It is also possible to go horse riding or cycling in the countryside. We also recommend a visit to Koh Ker and Beng Mealea, two remote complexes.

Day 12: Siem Reap - Bangkok

Free morning.

Check out at noon.

You will have to arrange the transfer to Siem Reap airport by yourself. Hotel staff can assist you.
